a regular sunday is a visit to my mother and a birthday party that often occurs in the big family i am married to by virtue of its size. i take these as opportunities to shoot pictures. and lately, the zorky 1 has shown consistent results. these photos were taken yesterday, processed last night. Ilford HP5 plus with D76 1:1, 11 mins at 20C. and this makes life of routine more bearable.
zorki 1 with fed collapsible 50 mm (elmar copy) with ilford hp5 plus (iso 400 pushed to iso 1600). night indoor shots with available fluorescent lights. film processed with D76 at 1:0 for 11 mins. at 20 deg centigrade.
more than half a century old, my zorki 1 exudes fine craftsmanship and style. she can still handle some rough handling and challenging situations. she has got great curves and great shoulders. and she is russian (with some german genes).
a testimony of how kids and rangefinders mix. 1st and 2nd photos simultaneously taken by me and my son this was taken by my son
the 1st, 3rd and last photo in the column were taken with the epson rd1s. the rest were taken with the canonet. the canonet hangs around the neck of my son in the last photo.
she is an orphan (facing the camera). and an aunt, a cigarette vendor with two children of her own, has taken her in. she helps her foster family by selling those battery-operated torches. i wonder how she is now. she does not like being photographed. she works in front of this max's restaurant every night and studies in the mornings. she enjoys a scholarship from the church. i forget her name.
it looks unused and plucked out of some time machine! no dings. hardly any scratches. and the lens is clear and everything works including the light meter. and, garrie got it for only Php3k!!!
bedans '76 get together at joseph's place for larry and for old times. boy leonardo brought his high school album. joseph brought out our high school annual. those kneeling girls at the end of the soundslides were just looking at the photos and the annual. in other photos, some were also reviewing youtube videos of the san beda games where opponents were trying to maim some of our players. and that was the topic of the night. basketball: a game that became bigger than life that evening.
